A great friend, colleague, and member of the Board of Trustees for
the Foundation for
Inspired Learning, Marlene Martin, passed away
on December 7th,
2011. Marlene was a beautiful human being-- gentle,
kind, insightful,
and larger than life.
Marlene was a member
of the Foundation for Inspired Learning's
Board of Trustees
for 5 years and I admired the wonderful, inspiring
way she contributed
to everything she touched. Marlene was a
strong advocate for
both Inspired Learning and Adult Literacy and
took the Inspired
Learning Model™ to Adult Literacy in a way only she could. It was the way in
which she lived her own life that inspired. She was a brilliant model of the
Inspired Learning Model™ , and
the world is definitely going to
be a different place without Marlene.
Marlene was known and loved for
her trailblazing of new frontiers of
consciousness; always living her life with exuberance devoted to the
deeper meaning of life and learning. Her open hearted joyfulness,
contagious laughter and her abiding love for humanity and Inspired
Learning will live on through all those who were blessed by her
presence. I am eternally grateful for the difference she made.
Marlene began her coaching practice in 1998. Her clients represent a mix of
goals, professions, personal outlooks and diversity. Each client was attracted
to Marlene's ability to create a safe space of growth and expansion, both
personally and professionally. She is a member of the International Coach
Federation, Coachville and 24-7 Coaching. Marlene is an Inspired Learning
Facilitator using the cutting edge model of the Inspired Learning Foundation in
her playshops and group facilitation.
Prior to
establishing her coaching business, Marlene wore many hats in the field of Adult
Literacy. Over a twelve year period, she volunteered as a Tutor, Tutor Trainer
